Dr. Banaji is a prominent Ophthalmologist whose son plays the drums and was training to go to Berkeley’s School of Music to study further. Dr. Banaji wanted to create a practice room for him in his spare garage. The brief was that it being a premium locality and society, people would be sensitive to the level of sound generated from the playing of an acoustic drum kit and that problem needed to be eliminated. So accordingly the room was treated to dampen the sound. An acoustic door was fitted to block the sound from the rest of the compound and therefore reaching the neighbors so he could practice without having to worry about disturbing anyone in the locality.
